Great Wolf Lodge!

Several weekends ago we took off as a family to Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. For years now we've watched the commercials on TV and thought it looked like something fun to do, but wanted to wait till the kiddos were old enough to really enjoy it! Well, they had a wonderful time and so did we! I smiled so much that weekend that my mouth hurt - seriously! We laughed and played the entire time. We ate breakfast and lunch in our room which helped keep the cost down and honestly was easier than heading out. Friday night we had dinner at the restaurant inside and then Saturday night went out to dinner with some friends that now live in NC. It was wonderful to see them in person and see all our kids get to know one another. At night after dinner the lodge offers story time at the GREAT Clock Tower in the lobby just following the “Rhythm of Nature” Clock Tower show. The kids all wear their pajamas and slippers - it's so cute!. Wiley (the wolf) came out during story time and you could have your picture made with him....we of course did not do that this year! It even snowed in the lobby which the kids thought was so neat. (It's a foam like bubble machine that creates fake snow - very sweet!) There's an icecream shop and Dunkin' Donuts inside - so Yummy! Brad and I enjoyed our french vanilla coffee each morning. The entire experience was so special - the staff were great, the lodge was beautiful, and there was so much to do.

We're thinking this trip may become an annual event  - at least for the next few years!
