Steve and Nena came into town for the holidays and planned a family brunch at Brad’s parents house. We got up that morning and headed to Marietta for most of the day. We had a wonderful time just spending time together and of course enjoyed some delicious food and opening gifts.
That evening our sweet girl participated in our Christmas Eve service by singing with her friends on stage. She loves being on stage and did a fabulous job - we practiced a lot....she loves her music! Alden enjoyed watching sissy on stage and danced in the aisles! (Mommy did have to make a quick exit when Alden spilled the Eucharist all over me!) Daddy participated as well - he was one of the 3 wise men.
Once we got home we quickly put the kids to bed and started "playing Santa!" We had worked a little each night that week to wrap all the presents so that all we had to do was assemble 2 bicycles and Ella Rae's Loving Family House. We had a great time! It brings us such joy to set up all their presents knowing how much fun Christmas morning is going to be. Before heading to bed Brad hung a sheet in the stairwell so they couldn’t peek in the morning - it worked like a charm! Last year Ella Rae came running in our room at 6am, waking us up and telling us everything that Santa had left for them. Boo! That wasn’t happening again....I really wanted to get that first reaction on video...and we did! Good thinking daddy!
