Easter Excitement!

Easter was beautiful! We had many opportunities to worship our Lord Jesus Christ! Our church celebrates the season beautifully beginning with Ash Wednesday, when we receive ashes on our forehead as a sign of repentance, Maundy Thursday we have an evening foot washing service and partake of communion to remember the Last Supper Jesus held with the Apostles, and Good Friday we have a noon service outdoors (honestly I just try to look forward to Sunday because that day makes me very sad). Last year we began offering nightly prayer time in the sanctuary during Lent and it is amazing! To be in a candle lit room, soft music playing, and kneeling at the cross in SILENCE before Jesus is a feeling like no other. Easter Sunday is a packed house and Mike’s message is always spot on and encouraging to ALL! It’s so fun seeing everyone in their spring clothes too! We are so thankful that Jesus gave his life for us!!! Other Easter festivities we attended this year included numerous egg hunts of course…Mommy and Me, Ella Rae’s school, our neighborhood, and in our neighbor’s front yard. I’m probably forgetting one! Ella Rae really has the egg hunting down now! We headed to Marietta for lunch with Papa and Nana and it was delicious…lamb, potatoes, asparagus, and a yummy pasta/tomato salad. Of course no meal there would be complete without an incredible dessert…Ella Rae even had a little petit four. She loves playing with Pumpkin, Papa and Nana’s kitty, and now requests tea when she sees her Nana (she’s from England)! Easter baskets were a big deal at my house growing up so naturally I went crazy for the kiddos! It was so fun! Easter pictures with Alicia were entertaining because she had little baby chicks for the kids to hold. Alden loved them although with his firm grip, I had to rescue some quickly. Ella Rae liked them at first and then decided their nails were a little intimidating. Overall our Easter and Lent festivities were very special.

Reunion Egg Hunt
So Ella Rae is NOT a fan of the easter bunny and poor Alden was sleepy!
He loved riding on my back. (my back did not love it!)

Graham crackers - yummers!

Easter Sunday!
