The Graduate!!

At only 17 months old Ella Rae has done amazing this past 7 weeks in her swim lessons! She completed her final swim test and graduated Friday! On Thursday she completed her winter clothes test and passed her summer clothes test on Wednesday. She absolutely loves to swim now! At our neighborhood pool she jumps in to us to swim, swims back and forth to the steps and wants to do it over and over again! It's crazy to watch this tiny little baby jump in to me and swim (face in the water and kicking). If she realizes daddy or mommy is to far away and that she needs to breathe then she will flip over to her back and float. Brad and I are very proud of her and feel comforted knowing Ella Rae has a greater chance of survival should she ever fall in the water alone. We can't thank Cindy Sachse (her instructor) enough for all she has taught our baby girl. www.infantswim.com

Here's a video of Ella Rae during her winter clothes test. While although this clip may be difficult for any parent to watch, remember our purpose for enrolling her in the class is to be assured that Ella Rae would be able to survive if she fell in a body of water with no adults present. She has now learned to flip over to her back when she realizes she can't breathe and needs air. Next year she will learn swim-float-swim survival techniques.
