Haven Claire Hames
was publicly dedicated to the Lord on the 18th day of March
in the year of our Lord 2012 at Celebration Church.
This is always such a special time for our family and it was extra special this time having a big brother and big sister take part in the ceremony.
Brad and I dedicate our children as a promise to the Lord to do everything within our power to raise them in a godly way, prayerfully until they can make a decision on their own to follow God. Some of the responsibilities we embrace include teaching and training them in God's Word, demonstrating an example of godliness for them, disciplining according to God's ways, and praying earnestly for them.
It’s a time for their blessing and our encouragement (Mike gives us such beautiful guidance)!
People have asked me, why does your church do a baby dedication? I always refer back to God’s Word.....In the Bible they publicly dedicated their children to God, because they understood that God had entrusted their children to their care. At our church, it is a joyful opportunity to publicly recognize a child as a gift from God and to stand together as a church family to raise a child up for God through example and encouragement. This is why we dedicate our babies!
Oh and each one of the kiddos wore the Auburn booties on their sweet little feet and Mike always makes sure to point out "God's Booties!" War Eagle!
