On April 12th, Alden started Infant Survival Swim (ISR) lessons for the first time (and Ella Rae started a refresher course). He goes Mon-Thurs for 10 minutes each day. Ella Rae has been going on Monday and Wednesday only, since she was still in school. They have done so well – we are so proud of them! ISR is a self-rescue approach to swimming. My children have learned to rest on their back when they run out of air, turn and swim to the steps or the side of the pool or just rest until an adult finds you (if necessary)….rest-swim-rest! They have learned competence, confidence and skills of aquatic safety and survival from Cindy! She’s wonderful with my kiddos! Ella Rae’s skills have improved drastically since last year. Cindy worked carefully with her to reinforce the swim-rest-swim this season. The swimming she has always loved...the resting - not so much. But now she can swim the entire width of our neighborhood pool (with me right there) swim-rest-swim style. So amazing and comforting! Alden has so much confidence in the water now and loves to jump right in or swim back and forth to the me or Brad and the steps. He still has more lessons and will graduate very soon. Both my kiddos are a joy at the pool – they love to swim and have so much confidence and most importantly they both have the skills to save their life! Thank you Cindy and ISR!
